Graciano as variety represents les than 2% of the total planted vineyard in Rioja. Wines with goog acidity, intense colour and robust feeling on the palate are the main characteristics of the grape if has a perfect ripenning. Mostry because of this reasons is why the grape has been used to be blended with the tempranillo. Unlike the tempranillo, Graciano has a vegetative cycle very long, hence needs more time to ripe. In our área, with Atlantic influence, north of Rioja Alta, vineyards in altitud it implies many difficults to reach optimal maturation, the harvest that achieves it is rare We have a few plants of Graciano in Haro and Ollauri.
