The ‘Silex’ Cuvée is made from grapes grown on the Eastern side of the Sancerre appellation. The Silex terroir is the smallest ( in surface) of the Sancerre appellation and also the youngest ( -10-60M) from the 3 terroirs. Only a fraction of the vineyards grows on silex soils. It is one of the most sought after Sauvignon Blanc terroir in the world. The soil is made from a combination of clay and flint stones. Silex means of course flint!
